Tucked away in nature yet just 8 minutes from the highway, 12 minutes from Ojochal, and a mere 3 minutes from the enchanting El Pavon Waterfall, this land captivated me from the moment I found it. Originally intended for my family home, life’s twists have led me to seek its next custodian.

The reasons I fell in love with this land are numerous, starting with Vergel itself, which is the nearest town to Ojochal and feels like an accessible oasis (Vergel means ’Oasis’ in Spanish) in the center of all the burgeoning development in the Southern Zone. As you veer off the public road to start the 600-meter drive up the very well-maintained private easement, you start getting the sense that you’re embarking on something special.
Once you complete the 3-minute drive up the easement and make it to the top, the stunning views, cool breeze and clean air welcome you, and that’s when the dreaming begins. It was love at first sight for me!

I especially love this land because:

– It is on the top of a ridge and has legal electricity and water to the property line.
– You have a potential 360-degree view, with breathtaking Ocean and virgin forest views on one side, awe-inspiring mountain views on the other, and the intriguing Sierpe River on another!
– The main plantel (building site) is huge! You can easily build a main 300 square meter home with a carport and have plenty of room for the kids (or adults, or both) to play. The rest of the land is a mix of slope and flat area, which allows for all sorts of creative projects;  even building a 150 square meter jungle guesthouse (that was my plan);
– The constant breeze;
– There is only one neighbor, a great family from Texas who is about to build their home on the only other available ridgetop lot; they’re close enough to make you feel safe, yet far enough to make you forget that you have neighbors;
– Its proximity to Ojochal and all its conveniences, while being tucked away in a peaceful and lush area, amongst the beautiful Costa Rican fauna and flora. This lot is nearer to the center of Ojochal than many of Ojochal’s phases;
– The short and easy drive from the highway; generally oceanview lots such as these require long and arduous drives up tricky roads.

I truly believe that any investment made in Vergel will only grow in the coming years. Legal ASADA water and ICE electricity have just arrived, and I’m seeking well-intentioned, nature-loving individuals to be the next stewards of this truly special piece of land.
